Lone Worker Training Awareness
Working alone is becoming increasingly common as more companies
introduce home working as an alternative to the traditional way of
working. People can be required to work on their own in all sorts of
industries, but just because an employee is working alone, it doesn't
mean they should be less protected than other staff or are immune to
the risks that are present.
The lone worker probably needs additional protection than other staff because of the unique health and safety problems posed, especially if the work involves travelling alone or attending appointments at night or in peoples' homes.
If your employees are working alone you must be sure that checks have been made on their working conditions, and that a robust safety and communications plan is in place.
