OSH Working Safely is a one day course designed to give all employees a better understanding of why it is important to work safely. The course is non-industry specific and is suitable for any employee. The assumption on the course is that delegates have no prior training in health and safety.

Benefits.
The course is highly interactive and gives delegates a good all round knowledge of what their duties are as employees, how to spot hazards, the importance of developing control measures and how they can contribute to improving their organisations safety performance.

At the end of the course there is a test split into two sections;
A multiple choice test.
A hazard spotting exercise.
Delegates that pass the test will be awarded either an IOSH Working Safely Certificate or a credit card sized Health and Safety Passport Card.

Course Content

• Introducing working Safely; why employees should work safely from a legal, moral and economic point of view.
• Introducing working Safely; why employees should work safely from a legal, moral and economic point of view.
• Identifying common hazards; this consists of looking at hazards that exist in the workplace.
• Improving safety performance; this looks at how a company can improve its safety performance through organisational arrangements that form its safety management system. This includes looking at safety policies, accident recording, auditing, personal protective equipment and safe systems of work.
• Protecting our environment; this module gives an introduction to waste and pollution. It gives examples of how companies and individuals can reduce pollution levels by cutting down on waste.

Course Delivery: can be either in house or at a regional venue.
