IOSH Managing Safely
Aimed at.
Health and safety is a fundamental part of a manager's role in the modern working environment. IOSH Managing Safely is a four day course designed for managers and supervisors giving them a level of health and safety knowledge that will allow them to carry out their jobs more effectively. The course is high interactive and there are many practical examples of how to manage safety.

Benefits.
Managers and supervisors that attend the Managing Safely course will be brought up to speed in all aspects of health and safety management. This includes legal responsibilities, risk assessment and investigating accidents. A written assessment and practical exercise will be carried out at the end of the course. All candidates that successfully pass the assessment will receive an IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
Course Content The course comprises of eight modules;
  • Introducing health and safety; the legal, economic and moral reasons to manage safety.
  • Assessing risk; what is risk and how is it rated?
  • Controlling risk; once a risk assessment has been carried out what do we do when we find that risk levels are unacceptable?
  • Your responsibilities; how does the law work with respect to health and safety. This section also looks at safety management systems.
  • Identifying hazards; what are the main hazards encountered in the workplace?
  • Measuring performance; active and reactive measures of safety performance.
  • Protecting the environment; an introduction to waste and pollution control. How organisations can reduce their waste levels.
Course Delivery: can be either in house or at a regional venue.
